Product Description:

To ensure proper installation and operation of the RFID card reader, please take note of the following warm tips. First, confirm the voltage requirement (12VDC) and be sure to differentiate between the positive anode and cathode of the power supply. When setting up the wiring between the reader and the controller, it is crucial to use a wire that is at least 22 AWG in thickness and does not exceed 100 meters in length. When utilizing external power, it is recommended to connect the reader to the same power GND as the controller panel. Ensure to use a multi-strand twisted pair cable for connecting the card reader to the access controller. Also, avoid wiring the LED and BEEP wires if there is no need for light or buzzer feedback prompts.

Wiegand Format:

The standard 26-bit Wiegand format is an industry standard that is widely accepted by most access control systems. This format consists of 2 parity bits, an 8-bit facility code, and a 16-bit card number field. The Wiegand interface is commonly used to connect a card swipe mechanism to the rest of an access control system.

The RFID card reader cannot function independently and must be paired with a Wiegand protocol access controller, such as an access control panel or master controller. It utilizes an ST MCU to ensure stable performance, while a low-power circuit extends the service life of the device.
